Meadowfoam seed oil, botanically known as limnanthes alba seed oil, is a golden yellow carrier oil that comes from the wildflower meadowfoam. This flower is native to North America (specifically northern California and Oregon), and its name describes the plant’s expansive creamy white flowers that – when at full bloom – look like sea foam on the surf.

For its physical properties, meadowfoam seed oil is a waxy substance that is similar to jojoba oil. It has a unique, velvety texture when applied to the skin, similar to that of argan oil, but is typically more affordable.
